Taste of Hartford is in full swing! Now through July 31st, diners can get multi-course meals for one low price at restaurants across the city. Like I do every summer, I headed to First & Last Tavern for their restaurant week menu. They are offering three courses for $20.16.
Course one: Tossed salad or Caesar salad. I love their tossed salad. It comes with a pile of chickpeas and some provolone cheese and salami under the lettuce.
Course two: Cheese pizza with one topping, margherita pizza, chicken carciofo, salmon or stuffed eggplant. I ordered the pizza with hamburger, so I'd have enough for lunch the next day.
Course three: Cannoli or strawberry short cake. No brainer here. I got the strawberry shortcake, the perfect summer treat. The huge scoop of vanilla ice cream was welcome on a 95-degree day.
