Clam strips, fries and clam chowder. I enjoy them every time I take a day trip to the Cape, but recently I was craving something different. So, I checked out El Mariachi on Main Street in Wareham.
El Mariachi's menu is packed full of traditional Mexican favorites. Burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, salads, tacos, soups along with several steak, seafood, chicken and pork dishes. Every meal starts with a heaping basket of chips and mild salsa, which they will happily refill. I enjoyed the Mariachi #2 combo plate, with a chicken enchilada and beef burrito along with rice and beans. It was delicious and filling. There are also several vegetarian dishes. Their kids menu includes enchiladas and burritos, along with grilled cheese and chicken fingers for kids who have not discovered the how wonderful Mexican food is just yet.
El Mariachi also offers many margaritas, along with specialty drinks like pina coladas and a tequila sunrise. Desserts include a caramel apple burrito, churros and deep-fried ice cream.
El Mariachi has a hand full of other locations including Yarmouth, Taunton, South Easton and East Providence, RI.
